Bug Description

If I open the given Web site (http://www.8bs.com) in Konqueror in Kubuntu (kdebase 3.4.0-0ubuntu18, linux-386
2.6.10-7), it brings down my X server (xorg-common 6.8.2-10) and seems to upset the hardware enough to prevent
the X server from being restarted and to prevent access to consoles. If I try the same thing in Firefox
(mozilla-firefox 1.0.6-0ubuntu0.1) no such behaviour occurs. The error text from Xorg.0.log.old is given below:

(II) I810(0): [drm] removed 1 reserved context for kernel

Added to the Xorg bugzilla (http://bugs.freedesktop.org) as bug #10618.
Note that I do not have a Flash plugin installed, but I do have Java enabled (Sun jdk1.5.0_03).

This will be caused by the Kaffeine xine part.
I can't recreate the problem.

Have just removed "Kaffeine (kaffeine_part)" from the audio/x-wav file association, and the problem no longer occurs. (The
8bs site plays a wav file upon viewing.) Still, no matter how unstable Kaffeine is (and it is!), it shouldn't bring down
the X server.

This seems similar to bug 18406; are they truly distinct?

I guess the underlying problem in the X server is the same, even though the applications which expose it are different.

The upstream bug is fixed; Fabio, can you check whether we have the required version?
