Bug Description

A search function within XPad would be very helpful.
XPad always starts at top of file when opened and in large files it is boring to navigate to the top you want to edit.

BUT:
XPad is a very fine tool. I like it very much and my idea is a complaint on a really high level and just a nice to have.

Hi Albrecht,

A search function has been implemented in Xpad 5.5.
Xpad 5.5 has not been released yet, but the code is available, so you could give it a try by compiling yourself.

I am trying to get it released, however I am running into technical issues with the launchpad platform for which I have created a question.

I will keep you posted.

Changed in xpad:
status: New → Fix Committed
importance: Undecided → Medium
assignee: nobody → Arthur Borsboom (arthurborsboom)
milestone: none → 5.5.0
Changed in xpad:
status: Fix Committed → Fix Released

Clear.

I have triggered the package manager of Arch Linux by sending a message of a new version of Xpad. If there are no major issues reported, then I will inform other Linux distributions as well (Ubuntu, Suse, Debian, etc).

However, if you can't wait for the update, you might ask the package maintainer of Ubuntu to have a first look at the new version and its impact.
