Bug Description

After moving to Impish, my bluetooth headset doesn't automatically connect when I power it on (it was working fine on hirsute).

When I go to the bluetooth settings, select it and click connect, the first time it disconnects immediately and I see this line in bluetoothd log:

Oct 28 13:57:11 arrakis bluetoothd[1106]: src/profile.c:record_cb() Unable to get Hands-Free Voice gateway SDP record: Host is down

After that, clicking the connect button again makes it work.

I'm not sure where to find info to debug this furhter

Daniel could you check if that's a regression for any hardware or if it's specific to some configuration?

This is still on my TODO list but low priority. The reason being this kind of bug has been observed with every release on a variety of hardware. I think it fails in more cases than it succeeds, and has always done so.

If by chance a developer has access to the same specific headset then the problem could be bisected and a specific cause identified.

Given the message in your kernel log:

Bluetooth: hci0: Ignoring error of Inquiry Cancel command

A similar problem with the same message was a kernel regression:

  https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=259954

Maybe not related to this bug, but still a reminder that it might be a kernel regression.

This still happens on a clean 22.04 install (with 5.15.0-23-generic).
