EPS output does not work correctly for large dimensions

Ich habe ein altes CorelDraw 5.0 zuhause.
Ich habe bisher keine anderen Funktionen
gebraucht, und die aufgeblasenen neuen Corelversionen lehne ich ab.
Ich benutze hauptsächlich die Vektor,Schrift- & Digitalisier-Funktionen.
Ich erstellte mit der neuesten Inkscape-Version ein Beschriftungs-Angebot incl. Digitalisierung von Logos (für einen Transporter).
Hatte dann aber das Problem, das der EPS-Export zwar klappte,
die Datei jedoch weder von meinem Plotterprogramm, noch von CorelDraw 5.0,
noch von CorelDraw 8.0 gelesen werden konnte.
Ich vermute, daß der Filter nur neue Versionen unterstützt,
Corel 8.0 zeigt nur einen Fehler an wie: (Version 4.05)...das wars.
Ich benötige beim EPS bzw. AI-Export eine abwärtskompatible Filteroption.
Damit ich bis auf EPS Version 1.0 gehen kann, und so die Kompatibilität
mit alten Programmen gewährleistet ist.
Natürlich benötige ich auch einen funktionierenden CDR Im/Export-Filter.
Wenn diese Vorraussetzung gegeben ist, ist für mich Inkscape benutzbar.
Ansonsten ist das Programm sehr gut. Das digitalisieren klappt besser als beim Corel 5.0. Die Seiteneinstellungen lassen sich sehr groß dimensionieren.
Nur die Geschwindigkeit bei groß skalierten Grafiken (bis etwa 3m)
ist leider etwas mangelhaft.
(nur mein Duron ist leider auch nicht der schnellste) ;-)
Die Druckvorschau fehlt leider auch. Ohne sie kann ich keine Datei auf den Plotter ausgeben (kontrollieren und evtl. scallieren bzw. einzeln markieren),
wie bei CorelDraw 8.0...die ist gut und zu gebrauchen.

the author of this bug report creates large (in terms of bbox dimensions) vector graphics.
The vectorfiles exported as eps goes to a plotting service to cut the sticker for the car; 3m in size.

The plotting program does not accept the file, nor CorelDraw5, nor CorelDraw8 does so.

Pickard please attach svg and eps that fails.

Inkscape 0.46 has since been released on Windows, can you please check to see if this problem still exists for you?

Hello ScislaC,
i have make a Solution for this problem (for me).
I exporting the file/graphic in Inkscape with filter: Encapsulated EPS.
At next step i must import this file in old "CorelDraw"-programs (Version 5.0)
and make two actions for it:
1. colour = none
2. line = 0,1mm

...at the next step, i make exoprting the file with old "EPS"-filter in CorelDraw (Version 5.0)
...and this file can my old cutting-program (EuroCut 1.5 from EuroSystem at 1992) correct read it.

I must going over old Windows-programs.

Question: given for this two parameter-change a filter or shell-programs for Ubuntu Intrepid ?

I unterstand at this time, that this parameter-problem the Solution is for my importing-problem in my old cut-software. But i want a intelligent & right Solution in Inkscape and Ubuntu.

Know you a Solution for this problem for me, ScislaC ?

To this time, i have Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 and work with Inkscape 0.47.
and i have my old problem still.
I need still filter for Inkscape 0.47 (CorelDraw 5.0-CDR to SVG ) !

@Pickard - are you looking for a backward-compatible EPS export option for 'EPS Version 1.0'? Would this be equivalent to 'Postscript Level 1'?
OTOH does you cutting-program accept other standard vector formats like DXF or HPGL?

My few notices about the bug #194682

I use Inkscape 0.47pre4 r22446, built Oct 14 2009 at Ubuntu Studio and Inkscape 0.47 on WinXP SP3 - bug exits
- for me it happens while exporting to ps or eps big 4meters x 2meters document, meaningless which post script level i choose ( 2 or 3 ) after clicking save as i get error that file can't be saved
- workaround: make A4 document, paste orginal 4x2 curves, scale down all curves to fit A4, save to ps, import to CorelDraw or other application and rescale to normal 4x2 meter size... and then works like a charm
