Thanks for the bug report. Please try adding this kernel parameter:

  i915.enable_psr=0

which you can do by editing /etc/default/grub, adding the parameter to the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT line, and then run:

  sudo update-grub

and reboot.

affects: xorg (Ubuntu) → linux-hwe-5.11 (Ubuntu)
summary: - Screen FLickers

Hi,

I tried adding "i915.enable_psr=0" under /etc/default/grub and the update-grub & reboot. it seem to work but causes another issue where by the laptop starts to hang time to time.

Thanks but that doesn't seem to show a hang. That log shows the system just shut down cleanly.

Hi Daniel,

Surprisingly, it's not happening at the moment. I will keep monitoring and
send the log if/when it happens.
2 of my office colleagues are also using the same laptop and were
experiencing the issue. let me also check with them if they are facing the
same issue after the grub update.

Thanks lot for your help and support

Thanks but unfortunately that's still missing any evidence of what has hung. Please remember step 1 in comment #4 which is "Wait 10 seconds" before rebooting. It may also help to use this to reboot:
