Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Bug reporting is mostly about finding & fixing problems thus preventing future users from hitting the same bug.

xserver-xorg-video-intel is an old 'intel' driver that is no longer maintained being depreciated.

I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate, eg. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709

Hi Chris,

Thank you very much for your reply. When I have installed Ubuntu on my new
desktop with Gigabyte B560m DS3H AC mother board with Intel core i7 11700k
processor, I am getting 1024 X 768 as default resolution which I am not
able to change and also display is coming as unknown and graphics llvmpipe
(LLVM 12.0.0, 256 bits) instead of showing Intel UHD 750. I tried many
things including updating kernel to 5.11.15 nothing is working out. Please
help me.

Regards,
Ramakrishna

Driver is not found or not configured.

The device is supported by kernel versions 5.9 and newer
<https://linux-hardware.org/?id=pci%3A8086-4c8a-1458-d000&dev_class=03-00&dev_type=graphics+card&dev_vendor=Intel+Corporation&dev_name=RocketLake-S+GT1+%5BUHD+Graphics+750%5D&dev_ident=ba6f7>
.

You are probably need to configure system for the device to work properly
(modify kernel boot parameters, connect card to a monitor, etc.).

[ 6.039555] i915 0000:00:02.0: Your graphics device 4c8a is not properly supported by the driver in this kernel version. To force driver probe anyway, use i915.force_probe=4c8a module parameter or CONFIG_DRM_I915_FORCE_PROBE=4c8a configuration option,or (recommended) check for kernel updates.

So, boot with "i915.force_probe=4c8a" kernel parameter.

Hi Daniel,

You are awesome. It really helped me. Unlimited hugs and love for your
tip.You saved my day. I don't know how to express my gratitude as I
physically and mentally struggled 5 full days.

After spending a big amount of hard earned money I could not use the system
all these days.

Till now I could not find any kernel that can support Rocket Lake i915 with
out work around. Please let me know the kernel in which the fix is pushed
so that I can test and update you.

I think the fix will be available in upstream kernel 5.12
So far, the only Ubuntu kernel that carries the patch is the linux-oem (5.10) kernel found in Ubuntu 20.04/Focal
Hopefully, they will backport the fix to the final 21.04/Hirsute kernel. Follow bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1905466 to track the status of that.
