Bug Description

Binary package hint: bidentd

Hi,

In bug #75981 it was reported that installation fails if update-inetd
is unavailable. A dependency was added, but according
to

http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2007/07/msg01013.html

this is not the correct solution.

In this case the dependency can be dropped as it also depends
on an inetd being installed.

debdiff follows shortly.

Thanks,

James

This bug was fixed in the package bidentd - 1.1.1-1ubuntu2

---------------
bidentd (1.1.1-1ubuntu2) hardy; urgency=low

  * Drop update-inetd from Depends, as
    http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2007/07/msg01013.html
says that it is incorrect to depend directly on it. The
correct solution in this case is just to keep the dependency
on "openbsd-inetd | inet-superserver", as that will either pull
in update-inetd, or provide the command themselves. This change
is forwarded as debian bug #466105, so if the next upload fixes
that then it can probably be synced. (LP: #192437)
