It appears "UNCLAIMED" in lshw is somewhat common. So I wouldn't take that to be evidence of a problem although it is suspicious.

What is evidence of a real problem is the Xorg log shows software rendering is in use:

[ 3.872] (II) FBDEV(0): hardware: EFI VGA (video memory: 8100kB)

and the correct hardware device node is missing:

[ 3.872] (EE) open /dev/dri/card0: No such file or directory

This makes me think the kernel version is slightly too old for your GPU.

Please try booting Ubuntu 20.10 or 20.04.1: https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop

you need at least v5.5 or up for Renoir

install linux-generic-hwe-20.04-edge which will install the HWE kernel from 20.10 which is based on 5.8

Thanks Daniel and Timo, your help is greatly appreciated.

I updated to 20.10 and things appear to be a lot different in my display. The HDMI works, the night light works, and now xrandr shows an extensive output for my display. I wish I knew it was this simple awhile ago haha! Let me know if you would like me to attach any of the output commands in my new system.

I did not need to update to the hwe kernal. I am just using the generic kernal (I will paste the version of the kernal that I am running below). I was going to do the hwe kernal update like you recommended, however, I don't want to fix what is not broken. Unless you recommend that I update to the linux-generic-hwe-20.04-edge like recommended above. Let me know if that is the case (if this is the case, please confirm that you would recommend installing linux-generic-hwe-20.04-edge opposed to installing linux-generic-hwe-20.10-edge, if that is a thing).

Again, thank you both so much.

It's a little bit cryptic but at the top of this page:

linux (Ubuntu) Fix Released refers to the fix being in Ubuntu 20.10.

linux-meta-hwe-5.8 (Ubuntu) Fix Released refers to the fix being optional in Ubuntu 20.04. Only if you were using 20.04 would you need to install linux-generic-hwe-20.04-edge.

Timo,

The release notes incorrectly(?) suggest Renoir support is in kernel 5.4:

Right, it still needs amdgpu.exp_hw_support=1 on 5.4.
