Bug Description

Binary package hint: gimp

Hi,
I'm unable to run GIMP. Everytime I try to run it a bug appears. Maybe upgrade to latest stable version of GIMP (2.4.4) would be a good idea. The difference between the present version of GIMP in Ubuntu 8.04 - 2.4.3 - and the latest stable version - 2.4.4 - is only in bug fixies.

Hi Pedro,
after the last updates and after applying of the patch for another bug ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/189946 ), GIMP runs without any problems.
So, I think the patch for the bug #189946 might resolve this problem, but I cannot be sure about it: After the latest updates and after applying the patch for bug #189946 I tried to run GIMP and it was running without any problems. Then I removed the ditectory ~/.gimp-2.4/ and removed the patch (#189946) too and tried to run GIMP again. Now GIMP was running again without any problems again.
So I can't say what fixed this bug. Maybe it was something from the upgrades.

Anyway, GIMP is now running just fine;)
