Mic support is broken

Kazam is unable to get microphone input from either my onboard analog inputs or my USB Logitech webcam/mic
I have reproduced on both my desktop (X470 Gaming Plus / R5 3600 / RX 580 8GB) and laptop (A54C-NB91)
it only shows unknown for mic input

Xubuntu 20.04 (reproducible on live image and upgraded installs)
