Can you by any chance test the same version of Google Chrome (https://www.google.com/chrome/dev/) and report whether the same crash happens there?

How to re-install version 84.0.4122.7 to reproduce this bug

Do you mean that the update to 84.0.4128.3 in the dev PPA doesn't exhibit the problem any longer? If so then problem solved, no need to try and reproduce a bug with an older dev version.

Yes.

The bug was particularly restrictive. Am a practitioner of the scientific method. If reproduce once, should be able to reproduce again, preferably some one else should be able to reproduce the issue. Was able to locate and re-install that version a described at https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1074658#c20 however was not able to reproduce the issue described. During trying to reproduce that bug found that setting --disable-sync crashed and closed the browser.

Since at least that version DevTools does not open, and random pages still crash. Went back to stable for a few days just for usage of console, very useful compared to creating HTML to display messages or using alert().

Will probably dive back in to dev channel again in a few days, though the issues are now compounding.

I'm with you on the scientific method. That said the dev series is a very fast-moving target, so trying to reproduce a problem on one specific version of this channel is potentially a waste of time. But your feedback and reports are very welcome indeed.
