This seems somewhat dependent on the screen resolution.

At 1920x1080 (the most popular screen resolution) our default web browser is "Firefox Web br..."
At 1366x768 (the next most popular screen resolution) it's "Firefox W..."

It looks like the GNOME stock application names have been optimised for this behaviour, being called short names like "Calendar", "Calculator", "Terminal", "Settings", "Fonts" which fit beneath their icons.

Perhaps our stock .desktop files should be examined, and developers encouraged to use shorter names. In 2020, does anyone on Linux really not know that Firefox is a Web browser for example?

This bug is not related to the title issue, thats a seperate bug.

This is about the size of app icons in the apps thats are grouped together using app folder. Their size is far bigger than the other apps which are not grouped. This is UI/UX bug nothing serious. If one want to focus on UI/UX this must probably be fixed.

this bug is different, am talking about the size of icons inside the app folder and not the event that occur after closing the app folder.

The icons inside app folder are huge and do not matches the rest of the fnome shell.

Check the size of icons in opened apps folder/group view that is huge in comparison to app launcher grid icon size.

Same happens to me. When I click on the folder inside the launcher the icons get huge.

I just noticed that this problem only occurs on my laptop screen (1366x768), but when plugging in a larger external screen the bug does not happen. I guess this bug is related to screen resolution.
