Bug Description

Firefox could not play videos on Gaia.com. The error message blamed the browser. So I downloaded and installed the browser Opera, with the same results and message. Both browsers would play Youtube videos.

Please enable Gaia.com videos.

Just tested in an up-to-date 18.04 virtual machine, and I can play the sample videos on gaia.com's home page.

What exactly is not working? Streaming videos maybe? Can you share the exact error message that you get?

Also, please run the following command in a terminal to attach additional information to the bug report:

 Thanks for the response, Oliver.
Today, the results are different.  There is no error message, but the Gaia videos will not start.  That is, there is no response to a left click on the little GUI in the center of the video display image.
Also, I would like to comply with your request but have no clue where to start.

 I just received this error message after clicking on a link in an email from Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard:

Copy/Paste produced the above solid black line instead of the three lines of text I had highlighted.

Hi Bob,

To attach additional information to the bug report, you will need to open a terminal window, either using the Ctrl+Alt+T keyboard shortcut, or searching for application "Terminal" in the Activities view.

When the terminal window appears, there should be a text prompt. Just type "apport-collect 1834375" (without the surrounding double quotes) and then Return.

This will collect relevant information about your version of firefox and system settings, and attach it to this bug.

 Oliver, I've reduced use of Firefox because I think it has been corrupted by Google.  I've been using mostly Opera.  And DuckDuckGo for searches.

Title:
  Gaia.com videos unsupported

Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Firefox could not play videos on Gaia.com.  The error message blamed
  the browser.  So I downloaded and installed the browser Opera, with
  the same results and message.  Both browsers would play Youtube
  videos.

  Please enable Gaia.com videos.

Also, I have a Hantek PC-Oscilloscope which requires Window 7 or XP.  Any hope to use it on Ubuntu, ever?

What exactly is not working? Streaming videos maybe? Can you share the
exact error message that you get?
