Bug Description

Binary package hint: evince

Bug #183271 results in Evince being unable to open http://www.smile.co.uk/terms . It fails with a rather uninformative message "error 2".

I suppose "error 2" is better than nothing (as with KPDF) but it is still pretty uninformative.

(NB: The bug here is not that it won' t open; that's the above mentioned bug in Poppler.)

Why is the upstream bug marked as invalid? It's NEW in GNOME bugzilla.

because the bug the task was pointing to has been marking duplicate, I've updated the task now but launchpad doesn't update those informations immediatly

Here's a document that gives "error 3":

http://blog.haerwu.biz/download/presentations/20080920-maemo-summit/Maemo-in-QEMU.pdf

If the document is broken, this is both usability issue and a loading bug.
Evince 2.22.2 on Ubuntu Hardy.
