I tried the daily-live of Feb. 5th, but I do not know how to use GVFS. There is no "Connect to server" in the places menu, and a "webdavs://username@server" or "webdav://username@server" in the location bar does not work.

In daily-live of Feb. 19th neither "webdavs://", "webdav://" nor there is a "Cennect to Server"-Button, so I still see no way to test webdav in GVFS.

AFAIK the address has to start with dav:// or davs:// , so try dav://mediacenter.gmx.net/ .

After the latest gfvs update (is now 0.1.8-0ubuntu1) webdav now basically works for me in Hardy. Accessing dav://mediacenter.gmx.net/ or davs://mediacenter.gmx.net/ in Nautilus correctly asks for user/pw and then displays the content.

There are still some glitches (folders have wrong icon, url is extended to "dav://mediacenter.gmx.net:0/", and some authentication things), but I suppose these would be different bug reports? And this one can be closed?

This appears to be related to this bug

The davs:// protocol is only supported via nautilus' location bar.

It is still not possible to connect to a davs:// shares via the Places menu.

Once a user is connected to a davs:// share a icon to the location appears on the desktop.

If a user clicks on that icon an error dialog pops up and insists that the share is not a valid WebDAV share, although another window of Nautilus is still connected to the share and can access all files on that share.

I run ubuntu 8.04 alpha 5 with the latest updates. (a screenshot of the problem is attached)

Christian,

what you describe is *imho* a nautilus bug not a gvfs. You should file a new bug against nautilus. Thanks ;-)

In my Ubuntu 8.04 the connection from nautilus to mediacenter.gmx.net via davs://mediacenter.gmx.net works fine.
BUT: I can't create a new Folder for example.
Is this a bug or is this normal for the gmx Mediacenter?

Ahh please stop mixing all issues here. Also don't mix gvfs with gnome-vfs bugs. Its a total re-write, not using a single line from the old code. Also open different bugs for different issues, please. Thanks

I do not think so:

This sounds like the connection is working, but at least creating folders not.
Somebody should figure out which actions are working and which not.

that's the link that work in gutsy

davs://myrepo:4444/public

Guys, you are abusing this bug report for different issues. The last bug, filed by slu is indeed a nautilus bug. I am very happy for all bug reports I get, but I'd really appreciate it if you could file different issues for different problems. Please focus only on mediacenter bugs here. And even for mediacenter different problems should have different bugs. It's not like opening bugs does cost anything, does it? ;-)

Thanks anyway and cheers.
