Good Morning Koen.
I have put in the information returned by "Bugzilla" yesterday to assist in identifying any further relevant information.
I tried to enter the information into the Launchpad Form, but it kept throwing errors, which meant that it was quicker to leave it blank.
This is NOT the first time Evolution has thrown a "Hissy Fit" when asked to search, either by parameter, or "Scrolling", and as the system has just been updated, on Wednesday 2nd January to be exact, it was my thought that this had been obviated.
Obviously not.
Thanks in advance of any assistance you can give.
Regards.

Good Morning Pedro.
I am correcting your mistake, on the "Bug Rep" below.
I have read through the "Bug Rep", as advertised and have conditions to add.
The reason for the correction is this:
Yes, the "Symptoms" are similar. However, when trying to Search using the "Category" in the Contacts, which I have tailored to suit my requirements, it has also caused Evolution to crash.
I "Click" on the Drop-down, which when I then select the Category wanted, causes the Crash.
Putting a Name, or Part-Name has caused a crash.
"Scrolling" using the Mouse Wheel has caused a crash.
I need Evolution for Work Requirements, so have little choice in what I can do.
Could you not do a "Port" of MS Outlook? I have had fewer problems with it, and despite what you may think, I am being VERY serious.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give, or how this can be fixed.
Regards.

Kevin mentions porting Outlook. We all know that will not happen
because of licensing requirements. However for you Kevin, perhaps do
what I've done and use KOffice instead of Evolution until this is worked
out. KOffice will load fine and doesn't seem to suffer from the same
issues.

Good Morning Sebastian.
Thank you for your E-Mail and thoughts.
However.
I can, at the moment use the "Search By: Name/E-Mail/Any Field" facility without a causing Evolution to crash. The one on the Top Right.
The Problem/Bug/Whatever is with the Category Search "Drop-Down" where I would be looking for Contacts in a specific Category. The One on the Top LEFT.
As to changing software whenever I encounter a Problem/Bug/Whatever, it is Company Dictate (Yes, that is the correct definition!!!) that should there be a Problem/Bug/Whatever, regardless of situation, not necessarily IT related, to change to another. Should Ubuntu fail to meet expected standards, regardless of field, we will change to another "Freebie" Software Solution.
Thank you any way for your thoughts.
Regards.

You will not find a software which has 0 bug though, would be better to work with the Ubuntu team to get this one fixed no? Could you open a new bug if you still have the issue using the gutsy-proposed version and include there easy steps to trigger the issue? If that's a crasher better to use apport to send it, just go to /var/crash and double click on the crash file thereThe bug is a GNOME

Good Morning Sebastien.
I did as you suggested, in an E-Mail yesterday and used the /var/crash to generate the report sent. It has Crashed twice this morning, and to clarify, I will go through the steps to notify again.
On the development question, I would like to assist, but as a user, for a company, it is not conducive to use company time. The other problem, is I have yet to find an alternate OS that I can install onto one of my laptops, where it will not damage the hard drive, SUSE damaged my laptop in a previous attempt, and it was a "Single Make-Clean/Make-Boot" install.
I use Ubuntu, and like Kubuntu in the "Hot Disk" form, but I am concerned with the issues with install (and Restore to WinOS should things not go to plan).
Regards.

My suggestion of using Korganizer was done from the "Keep business
moving" frame of mind. Switching to Korganizer does not preclude
helping to get Evo fixed. It mearly lessens the frustration in a
production environment by providing a temporary solution to a critical
need.

Apport seems to be a big help in submitting crash reports and I'll use
it in the future. For now, for whatever reason, Evo is working for
catagory search and Any field Contains search. This is a great help.
Yesturday, it was not functional even after enabling "Proposed" as an
update option and forcing an update. Nothing came through. I then
turned off Proposed, and did receive an update this morning for ssh
related items but nothing for Evo that I saw. However it works.. :)
Thanks to all in the team that helped fix this problem.

Good Evening Sabastien.
To answer your E-Mail, yes, a Re-Start was done.
It had to as our SysAdmin did the update during my lunch - the ONLY time he could do the update.
Thanks anyway.
