Bug Description

First of all: Congratulations, after an absence due to bad configurability of my rig I came back to ubuntu and was very positively surprised....there is one thing that bothers me: after using the calibration feature for my screens this leads to greenish displays, even a icc profile made with the same hardware under windows10 (where configurability decreased since my update to v10) makes the same effect used with ubuntu 16.04...am I not aware of some more setting or is this a bug?
Please let me know what more information you need from me besides I am using a hp envy dv6 and a wacom cintiq 13 hd, the nvidia graphics card is turned off for displays, I am using it just for Blenders Cycles renderer. I am a left-handed CG enthusiast who needs the wacom buttons on the right-hand side...

Thank you,
Michael

A greenish hue has been reported by other users in the past. It is caused by using an incorrect colour profile for the display. Please try removing all active colour profiles and tell us if that solves the problem.

Also, are you using any special hardware to generate your colour profile? If not then that's a mistake. You need to use an external device to generate a profile and verify its correctness for your monitor, or use none at all. One relatively cheap option is https://hughski.com/colorhug2.html

Hello Daniel and Team

I produced ICC-profiles both in windows10 and ubuntu 18.04 with an older
huey pro colorimeter. With Windows 10, everything seems to be working,
under ubuntu both of the profiles have a weird green channel, purpurish
reds are not available anymore. Unluckily, I cannot attach my produced
ICC-profiles, but all of them have a warning sign on the list where one can
select profiles. In Windows and with the huey software, the profiles seem
to work as both of my screens have the same color output. To me, it looks
like the "night mode" when I activate the selfmade profiles with ubuntu,
but maybe my colorimeters green sensor is not responding well with ubuntu?

Thanks for your help,
Michael

Thanks! Your feedback sounds like the missing piece to this puzzle. Until now the greenish problem had only been reported by people who didn't have a colorimeter so we just blamed the default profiles. However your comments now make me think it might have been a miscalculation in colord (or such) that is exaggerating the green channel most visibly.

The previous existing bug 1785764 mentions the greenish issue but isn't really about it. Let's make this bug 1803840 about the green problem.
