Bug Description

* Impact

That's a new bug-fix only update from GNOME

There is a micro-release exception for GNOME:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#GNOME

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution-ews/blob/gnome-3-28/NEWS
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution-ews/commits/gnome-3-28

* Test Case
Verify that evolution still works with exchange servers

* Regression Potential

That's a new versions with some changes/fixes so make sure the exchange integration still work correctly

-------------------------------

The package evolution-ews is still on 3.28.1 in bionic where evolution itself is already 3.28.5:

evolution-ews:
  Installiert: 3.28.1-1
  Installationskandidat: 3.28.1-1
  Versionstabelle:
 *** 3.28.1-1 500
        500 http://de2.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/universe amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

evolution:
  Installiert: 3.28.5-0ubuntu0.18.04.1
  Installationskandidat: 3.28.5-0ubuntu0.18.04.1
  Versionstabelle:
 *** 3.28.5-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 500
        500 http://de2.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic-updates/universe amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     3.28.1-2 500
        500 http://de2.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/universe amd64 Packages

So it e.g. does miss this fix:

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution-ews/issues/2

Could you maybe bring those to the same version?

We can do this update but I don't have access to an EWS account so I'm reliant on someone else to test the new version. Would you be willing to do the required testing?

It basically will involve enabling -proposed updates, installing the update, and then disable -proposed updates again. For this package, I recommend restarting your computer or at least logging out and logging back in. Then make sure that things still work. If you can verify any of the bugs fixed mentioned in the NEWS file, that's useful too.

Of cause I can do the required testing. I can verify the bugs I can reproduce - at least issue 2 and 17 are fixed with that new version (already patched and compiled a local package for that ^^).
So just tell me when the package is ready in proposed and I'll give it a try.

The bug is fixed in newer series by the fact that 3.30 has been uploaded, I'm doing a bionic SRU for 3.28.5 now

Brian Murray (brian-murray) wrote : Please test proposed package

Hello Torsten, or anyone else affected,

Accepted evolution-ews into bionic-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution-ews/3.28.5-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from verification-needed-bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed-bionic. In either case, without details of your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s) fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in -proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

Hi Brian,

thanks for the build.
I've tested that build:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution-ews/3.28.5-0ubuntu0.18.04.1/+build/16431621

It fixes all the problems for me i had with the current delivered package (which i also compiled myself in the past to be able to work with ews at all ;) ).
So for me the package looks fine.

I've removed "verification-needed" too - if that was wrong please put it back Brian.
