digikam crashes on full disk

Bug Description

Binary package hint: digikam

While using digikam to process raw images into jpegs my drive (the one with the pictures, not my home partition) ran out of space. Unfortunately digikam just crashes instead of giving an error message.

It would be nicer if a decent error message was shown saying that the tool cannot continue. It works fine once I free up some space on the drive.

Which kubuntu release are you using? What's the output of

   dpkg -l digikam kipi-plugins

What did you do exactly? Did you use the Batch tools the image editor?
Please provide step by step instruction to reproduce the error.

If you're using hardy, today new version were uploaded. You still
get the crash?

Hi

I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 with digikam installed (plus some other kde apps).

Output of command is:

Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold
| Status=Not/Installed/Config-f/Unpacked/Failed-cfg/Half-inst/t-aWait/T-pend
|/ Err?=(none)/Hold/Reinst-required/X=both-problems (Status,Err: uppercase=bad)
||/ Name Version Description
+++-==============-==============-============================================
ii digikam 2:0.9.2-2ubunt digital photo management application for KDE
ii kipi-plugins 0.1.4-1build1 image manipulation/handling plugins for KIPI

Phew... you're asking me to remember exactly what I did (3 months ago ;) )
If I remember I was trying to batch convert some raw images to jpeg using the Tools->Batch Process -> Convert option. This is iin the Album view.
The images are stored on a separate partition and this partition ran out of disk space. Resulting in digikam closing without any error message.

I'm not planning on using hardy until it's stable.
