Bug Description

Bug applies to ubuntu-16.04.

Assuming lightdm preinstalled in the system, Installing unity does not enable using ubuntu unity desktop.

To get things working, package ubuntu-session needs to be separately installed.

To improve installation experience, best to make ubuntu-session depend of unity going by bionic's case of unity-session depending on unity (https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/gnome/unity-session)

In current Ubuntu versions, the required package is 'unity-session'.

What Ubuntu version are you using?

Ubuntu doesn't use Unity any more. It uses gnome-shell by default and ubuntu-session depends on it. To get the full unity desktop on 18.04 you should install `ubuntu-unity-desktop`

That's a good point, so "Won't Fix" is an accurate answer.
