Bug Description

Wish list: It would be great if we could edit the pick up library after an item is in transit to a library outside of our library district. Then when the item is scanned, it will be rerouted to the correct library. One of our branches is currently closed for construction. Patrons aren't selecting a pick up library and since their default selection is no longer an option, the holds are going to the library at the top of the list of libraries in our consortium. Once in transit to that library, all we can do is ask the staff at that library to edit the pick up library when the item arrives to send it back to one of our other branches. We are catching as many as we can while the holds are still pending but some holds are placed and filled before the daily report arrives in my inbox.

There is a setting in the User Permission Editor for UPDATE_PICKUP_LIB_FROM_TRANSIT which will allow changing the pickup location while an item is in transit. When it arrives wherever it was originally going, it will print out a new transit slip to the location that you've changed it to.

(There's also a somewhat related UPDATE_PICKUP_LIB_FROM_HOLDS_SHELF that allows someone to change the pickup library after an item has already been placed on the holds shelf. It requires staff to pay attention to their list of items on the holds shelf so that they can see that the status has been changed - I believe it says "Wrong Hold Shelf" instead of "Ready for Pickup" as the status when this happens.)

I'll mark this ticket invalid since it's available via a user permission.

Also adding a note that if you're viewing the Transit List interface, there's not a way to edit the pickup location from there - you have to go to the patron's account, go to the holds screen, and then use the Actions button to edit the pickup location from there.

So perhaps there should be a wishlist request to add the Edit Pickup Library action to the Transit List interface?

Went ahead and updated the title of this one to reflect making the option available from the transit list.

When I add Patron Name and Patron Barcode to the columns, the columns are
empty. Why is that? The picture is XUL but Webby has the same empty columns.

Hmm - are those items transiting for a hold or transiting to return to their home location?

When I look at mine, it shows the patron name and barcode for the ones that are transiting for holds.

Yeah, weird. I looked at my own branch's transits for the past 21 days.
There are 425, half were returning home/half were holds, and none show a
patron barcode.
