Bug Description
[Impact]
At this point in time, Lubuntu is giving the impression that we support the Qt session by shipping it by default. We don't.
Lubuntu Next was never released, and this file should have never been in that binary in a release.
[Test Case]
Test if QLubuntu is an available session to choose on login. It shouldn't be.
[Regression Potential]
None; users shouldn't be using it anyway. Not only is it broken, it's unsupported.
[Original Description]
Immediately after choosing "Lubuntu Qt" session at login time, a small window appears with the message:
unable to launch "/usr/bin/
There's an "Okay" button. After pressing the button, the system crashes.
In /usr/share/
Lubuntu.desktop openbox.desktop QLubuntu.desktop
The content of QLubuntu.desktop are:
[Desktop Entry]
Name=Lubuntu Qt session
Comment=A specific Lubuntu session using Qt
Exec=/usr/
Type=Application
I suggest that QLubuntu.desktop be removed from future point releases of Lubuntu 18.04, or earlier if possible, so that users cannot login into the session it appears to provide.

In my opinion as Lubuntu Release Manager, this needs to get in Bionic as soon as possible, especially with the upgrade enablement date coming shortly.
