Hi,
Can you please verify if this problem still exists using a cloud-init trunk build from
 https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/g/cloud-init/cloud-init-dev/

If it is still a problem, please run 'cloud-init collect' and attach the output.

After doing so, please set the 'Status' back to 'New'.

If the bug is not present in current cloud-init, then you'll have to raise the issue with your distro.

Thanks
Scott

Seems, its not working for CentOS6.9.

Karen,

At the moment, cloud-init only applies password settings from the instance user-data once per instance. So, If I understand you correctly it is largely operating as designed on Centos 6.9.

We are looking at adding new features to cloud-init that would allow such changes to happen more than once per instance, but that is not available currently.
