hangs on boot from suspend, does not transition to login

rebooted desktop from suspend ~24 hrs. Screens (2 monitors) looked like the image here:

Hello!
Sorry for the link mix up, this should be the correct one:

After restarting from suspending the screen flickers from black to the
multicolored pixels. It will occasionally "move" ie. the pixels will move
locations, but it is still incoherent and complete noise.

This persists for many minutes, rendering the login screen unreachable,
requiring a hard reset of the desktop to reboot, where it is solved after
the restart.
