Bug Description

Hello,
Referencer is not in the Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic-Berver repository.
Will Referencer be soon packaged for Ubuntu 18.04 ?
Thank you

affects: referencer → referencer (Ubuntu)

Aha!
Apparently Referencer was removed from Debian unstable https://tracker.debian.org/news/937606/removed-122-2-from-unstable/

Unfortunately, this is new information to me. I guess we need to at least get rid of the gconfmm2.6 defendency, and make a new release. But someone needs to find a new Debian package maintainer, as it was orphaned https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=830812

I don't know if the easier way forward is to do a Snap or something like that?

Thank you for your answer,
I successfully build and install referencer 1.2.2 from source on ubuntu 18.04 (just need to patch the bug #1645639) and then :
./configure
make
make install

I also tried to make a snap with the basic online beginner guide... I almost get it working. I make the snap from referencer-1.2.2 on ubuntu 18.0 (see the attached .yaml file to run snapcraft):

snapcraft --no-parallel-builds
snap install referencer_1.2.2_amd64.snap --dangerous --devmode
snap run referencer => failed du to missing dependency... (but the bin created in prime/bin/referencer works fine !)

This software is great for managing bibliography thus I will be interested to help to maintain this package/software. But I have only few basic knowledge in software management/developpement...

Best regards
