Bug Description

IBM has released (as of 2007-11-23) a powerpc release of the Java6 JDK and JRE.

It would be great to see these packaged in medibuntu!

I also reported bug #136404.

Dunno if this should be considered a dupe of that or not, though I think the update Java5 packages are a separate issue that could/should be done this this can't be packaged.

Thanks for your bug report.

We don't know yet if we are going to include this new ibm-java, since "icedtea", the free java, is available in ubuntu repositories and seems to be functional.

That would be great, if only icedtea packages were available for powerpc!

Also, IBM still makes the best powerpc JITter.
