Could be something with 'realtime' kernel. My AMD-intergrated ATI videocard is not working right and displays "AMD Testing use only Unsupported" down right
Yesterday with Ubuntu 7.10 it did work allright, today, after upgrade to 8.40 does not.
and previous, with an Nvidia card, the realtime kernel would also not function right.

I accessed an external hard drive when moving my files back after installing ubuntu 13:10 - (downloaded the daily 13.04 64-bit dated 25 aug 2013) everything copied quickly and all went well until I attempted to safely remove the drive - it kept re-mounting the external - I am going to reboot in order to get the drive out of the USB access point without damage...

just happend to me on a 13.10. clicked on the unmount arrow in nautilus to check out an external drive. after that nautilus crashed
