Łukasz Zemczak (sil2100) wrote : Proposed package upload rejected

An upload of linux-firmware to xenial-proposed has been rejected from the upload queue for the following reason: "It seems the debian/changelog has the wrong bug attached - LP: #174363 seems like a very old bug for a completely different package. Apparently a digit got lost somewhere. Please fix the changelog entry and re-upload.".

Is there a test case for this bug and SRU?

Sigh, I told Hui Wang when he sent the patch that he needed to add the SRU justification, seems he never did it. I'll copy it over from the patch cover letter, only because we really need to get this update moving for bug 1743638.

Hello Hui, or anyone else affected,

Accepted linux-firmware into xenial-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/1.157.17 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed.Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from verification-needed-xenial to verification-done-xenial. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed-xenial. In either case, without details of your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance!

On elementary OS Loki, adding xenial-proposed and upgrading resulted in a functional bluetooth device. The upgrade did, however, upgrade a lot of packages so I just have to assume the fix is was added from this bug. All that said, it's nice to have bluetooth working. Thank you for all that you do!
