empty document properties window

When I open several instances of Inkscape (nightly Nov. 26, 2007) and at the same time open document properties for each, the latter document properties window shows empty content.

The platform is Windows XP SP2

Actually if I open a new window and the previous window had the Document Properties opened and again accessed the Document Properties on the new window, I think it should just show the previous window and not display a window without a content. I am currently checking a new build to see if its fixed. But my connection is too slow as of now

Last night I downloaded the latest update to Inkscape, 30th Nov .dmg file for Mac OS X. Before my upgrade the document properties window box was functioning. I upgraded to this latest version because I couldn't export .svg files to .eps. My current running Mac OS X version 10.4.11. How far away is the bug fix?

Alexander hadn't replied yet (the first commenter). I downloaded the latest nightly as of December 3, 2007 and it isn't fixed yet. Probably not elevated to the bug squashers.
It works for me by closing every properties, fill properties window, etc first and then reopening again in the new instance of inkscape. For now

Hi,

I have tried what you suggested by closing down the property boxes and reopening the document properties window, but the window is blank. I have even closed the file and Inkscape and reopened them both with no luck.

Let's hope this problem gets bumped up the list, as I really need this option.

Pixabella: are you sure you have closed every possible window and again reopening?

Anyway, I hope this bug gets squashed immediately becoz it's really annoying. Especially when you use the keyboard to open up properties window. Had to alt-tab, alt+f4 then alt-tab... sheesh it's tiring

Yes, I closed down everything. Today I downloaded the latest dev vers for Inkscape Mac OS X users but it failed to open. I re-installed the 30th Nov .dmg update and now the window property box is functioning. Who knows what is going on there, you might want to give it a go with the Win vers.

i tried this on - (Inkscape 0.46dev+devel, built Nov 27 2007) and could reproduce the bug.
i then tried it on the most recent build (Inkscape 0.46dev+devel, built Dec 12 2007) and the bug seems to be not there any more...

FYI: i could only recreate this bug if i opened a new document from within the existing open instance of inkscape. If i opened a second completely different instance, the bug was not there.

can anyone confirm this?

I tried opening a new instance from within the existing instance and accessed the document properties. And back. It works fine now.

Well, the only one small detail is missed... could it BE DOCKED by default? Because the window on windose does not show on the task bar so i have to minimize all windows just to show em up or press ctrl+shift+d again

Closing as 'Fix Released', setting milestone to 0.46. Please re-open if the problem reoccurs in the current stable release (0.47).

The docked/undocked setting is saved between sessions: you only have to dock the document properties dialog once, after that it will always open docked. If this doesn't work for you in 0.47 please file a new report.
