Bug Description

Would it be possible to control the attributes (i.e. position, handle
length, handle angle, etc.) of individual nodes in the properties dialog?

Absolutely. If you could vary the width of a line by changing stroke width
on a node by node basis, you could have the quick, precise entry of the
bezier curves tool, and much of the subtlety of the caligraphy tool in one.
Right now you seem to need to choose between the control of the former, and
the latters ability to have width vary in one line.

This is a must have imho.

I've attached a mock up of what I had in mind. As in the picture, the
corner, smooth, or symmetric buttons would remain beveled in in order to
indicate the selected node type. (I know In the picture that it's beveled
out, but I couldn't figure out how to make an inner bevel in The Gimp,
sorry.).

I would really appreciate if i could change the coordinates of a node
through node properties. I used this feature in the old Freehand 8 a lot.
It makes it possible to align two nodes that are off the grid or a guide.
Extremely useful!

In current SVN it is possible to set X/Y coordinates of selected nodes in the toolbar. Similar controls for the node handles will be added when I find the time (or if someone else feels like it, of course :) ).

Hello. I think this is a very useful feature, but I have different (somewhat more detailed) ideas for it than jdhenry above. I would like to be able to click on a control point (or multiple one), and the toolbar should show:

X [ ] Y [ ] len [ ] ang [ ]

or something like that, where X Y are the rectangular coordinates of the control point (as per the internal SVG spec) and the len and ang are the length of the handle (distance of control point from node) and its angle (which are both only calculable from the rectangular coordinates).

I suppose both approaches could be provided as they do not conflict, but I leave it to the devels to decide which of the two it will be. I personally think it would be useful to be able to select multiple control points and make them all have the same angle, but I suppose one could just select multiple nodes give them all the same incoming angle. Whichever of the two would be better, please add it! Thank you for all your great work!
