Bug Description

I updated to Ubuntu 17 last night and the tab bar in Terminator went completely transparent. It was opaque before the update. I haven't been able to find a setting to adjust this. See attached screenshot.

I can reproduce with Ubuntu 17.04's package (1.90+bzr-1705-1) but not with current bzr (1.91+).

Yup, known and already fixed issue. Ubuntu 17.04 is packaging 1.90, and the fixes went in after that. It is a complex interaction of theme & gtk version and fixes to get the transparency to work which caused this.

Updated packages fixing the problem can be downloaded from this PPA:

https://launchpad.net/~gnome-terminator/+archive/ubuntu/nightly-gtk3?field.series_filter=zesty

Is there anyone able to upload these to zesty?

I've had trouble installing the nightly. I get this error:

W: The repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/gnome-terminator/ppa/ubuntu
zesty Release' does not have a Release file.
N: Data from such a repository can't be authenticated and is therefore
potentially dangerous to use.

Strange. I thought I'd set this to invalid. 2nd try..

@Dan, that is completely unrelated to this Invalid issue. I don't have the option to test the zesty package right this second. But this is the first time I've heard of any issue. I think there would have been an outcry before now if the problem was with the repo/package.

Changed in terminator:

This is indeed invalid from the software side, once there is a fix in the newer version, but it is not invalid if you look at it from the user's side which doesn't get the latest/fixed version from the distribution repos.

The latter packaging part of the issue should be tracked at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/terminator
