Bug Description

From the Gnome Help >> Tips & Tricks >> Determine which version of GNOME is running

You can determine the version of GNOME that is running on your system by going to the Details panel in Settings.
Open the Activities overview and start typing Details.
Click on Details to open the panel.
A window appears showing information about your system, including your distribution's name and the GNOME version.

yet...opening up
Activities > Details

the details window does not show either my distribution's name *or* GNOME version.

Either
1) This behaviour changed and the documentation is out of date
or
2) there's a bug in "Details" window.

In 17.10 artful...you can get to 'details' by going to settings->details, and sure enough...the distribution name & GNOME version is present.

...but you can't get to the 'details' by searching via 'activities'.

I am reassigning this bug to gnome-user-docs since the help should be updated because gnome-control-center (Settings) changed its layout in 3.26.

You can search for About in the Activities Overview but searching for Details doesn't work.
