Bug Description

The following log comes from the installer syslog file. Since at least Dec.16th a message is present in all variants of Ubuntu on startup (ubiquity). Since then, in BIOS mode, all installers have opened in try Ubuntu.

There is no incidence on the installation except for xubuntu. In the Xu installer, the skin is light pink. This bug is not shown in the System Log and belongs to ubiquity.

This is a fresh install of 17.04 on an HP desktop. 20170111 build

Visible message on startup in the installer (all of them):

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.10 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

There is no relation between custom kernel and Ubiquity or the installer. The bug is in today's build: Same message on startup and Kylin opens in try Ubuntu in Chinese(20170117).
Plus , fans and HDD are too noisy to run Zesty under 4.10, even 4.9. I tried 4.10-rc4 when it came out and there was too many noises in Zesty or Xenial. The Ubiquity team introduced this bug a month ago. I don't have any of these issues under Windows 10.
