Bug Description

this bug is seen in the map "fjords". there are no fishes on most of the coast already from the start. on looking at the editor, i see that there are water resources on most of the coast, and the few places without water are also fisheable. I assume that water resources are removing default fishes that would normally be on the coast. normally this is invisible, as there are still fishes around, it just become visible on fjords because away from the coast is ice and so there are no other fishes.

now there are some updates. a player made a fisher in a place, and it found no fishes. then the fishery is dismantled, and after a while it is remade, and now it finds fish. no roads were dismantled or trees cut that may have blocked trees. there is some apparent bug with fishes and fjords.

So you put there fishes and they dissapeared? I tried to add fishes there, save/load and they are still there...

The bug isn't seen in the map editor - you only get it in-game when your fishers and fishbreeders won't find anything.

Attaching my autosaves from the game in case they will help debugging.

ling_of_nowhere, can you also attach the map?

yeah, if one changes the water to fish, the fish stay there. the problem is that it is all too easy to accidentally remove the fish by putting water on the coast.

Plus, there is the issue of reproducibility. in the replay from gunchleoc game, it can be seen that he makes a fisher and fish breeder near his headquarter at around 4 hours. they find nothing. then he makes them in the same position a but later, and they find stuff, without any apparent reason.

The reason that the Fishbreeder didn't find anything in the savegames is that the fishing grounds were full. So, this is an editor UI issue, maybe? I don't have any ideas for solutions right now.

I have attached a branch that will visualize the fish resources for the player (but not for spectators).

I think bug 1750743 is a duplicate of this bug and all resources are affected. The special thing with water is the default amount of fish, which get obviously also removed when another resource is set?
