Bug Description

I installed Ubuntu Gutsy using Alternate CD yesterday on an iBook G4. This CD doesn't contain OpenOffice.org complete. So by default there is no office suite.

Can anyone please look into this issue? This is still present on Hardy Alpha 3.

Please don't patch ubuntu-meta directly. Changes need to be made to the seeds.

I think this is likely to cause the CDs to overflow. The alternate powerpc CD is currently 644MB, which I wouldn't expect to allow enough room for OOo.

As per my calculations the size for packages calc, writer, impress and their dependencies (which are not already included on CD) is approx 48 MB. So the final size would be approx 692 MB. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Is it possible to do a test build for alternate CD image by making these changes?

By the way, I was not aware that ubuntu-meta shouldn't be patched directly. Sorry for that.

OK, I'll do a germinate run tomorrow and get accurate figures for this.

restore OOo to desktop on powerpc (LP: #164491)

It's too late to upload ubuntu-meta now, so I think we'll just have to bank on task installation doing the right thing even with incomplete metapackages. This should work, but let me know if it goes wrong.
