Bug Description

hello, in Linux Mint 18.0 Mate I can not play tracks in pogo. The track appears well in the play list, but when I try to play, a red icon appears to the left of the title and playback stops. I posted the image of the icon in attachment. These tracks are played smoothly with other players. Thank you for your help

Could you please start pogo on the command line and paste the error log
here?

On the Mint version 17 Qiana this problem does not occur : pogo plays the same mp3 files without error !

Thanks for the log. Unfortunately, it doesn't help us much. Maybe the
drive hasn't been correctly mounted for pogo.

Applies also to decibel. Probably its due to Mint 18 is not shipping the old gstreamer plugin (aka ugly) anymore.

Look here:
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=227609

Relevant (but ugly) information to get it working again:

"The solution was to manually install the gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly package (manually downloaded from the repos). I also had to manually download/install some of its dependencies."

Jendrik, will/can you fix that to use gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly instead?

This would require a big rewrite since gstreamer 1.0 requires PyGI GTK 3
which in turn works best with Python 3... It'll be a while until I find
the time for this. A while ago I started working on this, but PyGI
support on Ubuntu 14.04 was too buggy:

Understand...
In the meantime, can anyone please post where (what repos exactly?) to install the 0.10 version and its dependencies from? I cannot quite find it...thanks!!

Hi Andreas, you can find the solution here https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=227609
It solves the problem under Linux Mint 18

No, the problem no longer occurs, neither in 9.0 nor in 9.1
