applications launched via "kdesudo" ignore customized kde

Bug #163697 reported by klerfayt

kdesudo (Ubuntu)
Won't Fix
Undecided

Bug Description

adept & other kde applications that are run using "kdesudo" will ignore my customized kde and use kubuntu's default settings (kubuntu 7.10)
I did a complete reinstall - now applying updates but skipping libqt3-mt package update - the problem seems to be in some other package update, because the bug still appeared

Kdesudo uses root home folder for security reasons, as it seems pretty dangerous to run apps with root persmissions in the user's home folder.
Gksu also does the same way.

Changed in kdesudo:
status: New → Won't Fix

Anthony this is not some sort of misunderstanding on your side about
security suddenly becoming an issue with kdesudo and hence not integrating
with user customized KDE?
AFAIK kdesudo is here for better integration [that for some reason stopped
working after recent updates]; more specifically it should (but does not at
the moment) fix this bug:
