Bug Description

Restricted manager open dialog doesn't display all locations in the open dialog. I attach a screenshot made during installation of bcm43xx (in the step where I have to give a location for wl_apsta.o).

Also the title of the dialog box could be better than geeky "restricted-manager".

Ubuntu 7.10

This is because rm runs as root and root does not have shortcuts for places.

I understand, but that can't be used as explanation for the user. Average user just wants to have his/her drives available and propably even don't know that they still exists in /media.

You should file a new bug about the user friendliness of the root account. Honestly I don't believe it would be hard for a user to learn about the filesystem's structure - or just find out where their files are.

I thought yesterday about opening a new bug. I disagree with sentence about learning. Even if it isn't hard to learn that volumes are in /media, I always have been thinking that the point in making good UI is to avoid forcing user to learn things like that.

Instead of making a new bug I found something similar, see bug #120587.
