Bug Description
Binary package hint: vmware-server
When I start VMware Server, it suggests that I visit the VMware website to download a new version. Since this is packaged software, the upgrade should instead be offered via the packaging system.

I don't think this bug is fixable by the ubuntu team. VMware server is a closed source package, and in order to change something like this they would have to obtain permission to modify the vmware server source code.
I could be wrong, and I hope I am, but I don't think so.
