Bug Description

Since last time I updated my system, I can't switch between workspaces anymore using CTRL+ALT+arrows.
SUPER+S is still working fine, though.

I got hit by this after running "apt update" this morning - I noticed Unity was one of the packages updated.

I discovered a workaround on Ask Ubuntu: https://askubuntu.com/questions/819585/workplace-switcher-stopped-working-in-ubuntu-16-04 which led me to this bug. The work-around works for me.

I also found that the "grid" features of unity no longer worked after this morning's update: dragging a window to the left or right edge of the screen no longer resized it to the "left-half" or "right-half" size (i.e. the full height of the screen, and half the width, snapped to the left or right edge). I enabled the "grid" setting in the "CompizConfig settings manager", which restored the feature, however I was prompted to decide about a number of keyboard shortcut conflicts. I mention this here because the symptoms occurred at the same time as this bug, and in the same area, therefore they might have the same root cause.

I would just like to confirm that my experience matches that of Richard King 100%.... I should update more often though since I only did so last night and encountered this.

Updating to 16.10 didn't solve.

This also happened on my PC after the latest apt upgrade. Keyboard shortcuts for switching workspaces stopped working and the drag-to-maximize feature was gone.

I had to manually install compizconfig-settings-manager and re-enable both "Desktop wall" and "Grid" plug-ins.

Same here: I just lost my keyboard shortcuts for workspace switching. None of the workarounds works for me.

System: Ubuntu 16.04

Everything worked fine until 2 or 3 days ago. I first run into the problem that new windows were created with their top and left edge hidden behind the menu and launcher bar. I then installed ccsm to correct this problem. This in fact worked but now the CTRL - ALT - arrow workspace switching (as well as a custom shortcut for moving Windows between workspaces) stopped working. No setting in ccsm seems to correct this.
