Bug Description

I get the following message boxes;

Not all updates can be installed
Run a partial upgrade, to install as many updates as possible.

Can't install 'ubuntu-desktop'

It was impossible to install a required package. Please report this as a bug using 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal.

Could not calculate the upgrade
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

 This can be caused by:
 * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

This is most likely a transient problem, please try again later.

  • desktop.txt Edit (11.9 KiB, text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; name="desktop.txt")

I tried to install ubuntu-desktop by:

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

in a terminal window and it said I already had the latest desktop. See
attached dialog.

Is there another way to install the package ubuntu-desktop?

Afterwards I tried the update again and I still get the same errors.
