Bug Description

Hi,

I do not know which package/condition to attribute this behaviour to, but MBA running Ubuntu 14.04 is using about 50% of power that needs to be delivered for 16.04. (minumum 10W power draw vs minimum ~5W draw).

Otherwise 16.04 works well.

Any clue how to tackle this?

Best,
b.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.7 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Hi Joseph,

Sorry for the late response, I did not receive the notification for some reason.

I did test at the time, with all latest 4.5.x, 4.6.x and 4.7.x kernels, no change.

It would make sense to test with 4.8, or even better, wait for 4.9 and test it with that?

bostjan, to keep this relevant to upstream, one would want check for, and test the latest mainline kernel (now 4.9-rc3) as it is released.

Could you please advise?
