Envelope icon wonky, other icons blurry in unopened indicator bar

I see it both on the phone bq e4.5 and the tablet bq M10FHD.
The envelope icon looks asymmetrical, and all other icons are blurrier, when the indicator bar is closed.

What's interesting when you pull down the indicators panel, the icon looks fine there.

The asymmetrical envelope is just the most visible example of a general problem: all icons are rendered worse in the status bar than they are in the open menu bar.

Here’s a magnified screenshot showing some of the other icons in the status bar (top) vs. the menu bar (bottom): the location reticle lines are blurrier, the triangles inside the Bluetooth icon are closed up, the strokes of the roaming “R” are 3 lighter pixels wide vs. 2 darker pixels, and so on. (Most menu bar icons in this screenshot are also darker, but that’s unrelated.)

I thought maybe the closed icons were being scaled to an unintended size. But the ones I measured are exactly the same number of pixels high. They’re just being rendered differently. So this is similar to bug 1472511.

I might be stating the obvious here, but this looks like what happens when the graphics/icons are not rendered pixel-aligned

If the pixel alignment was wrong you would likely see asymmetry in the rest of the icon too, but you don't. So it just looks like it's been cropped on the right.

That said, we've had a few problems with Unity8 being blurry in parts by failing to pixel-align textures (and text). So there's plenty of precedent for that mistake and I don't think we've resolved it all yet.
