Bug Description

M10 tablet, OTA11.. (saw same thing very occasionally in OTA10.1)

Sometimes when using the tablet it just stops responding.. No touch actions work at all.. Screen does not update.. Have to power down (longpress on power) and up again.

Seen it 5 times in the 2 hours since I got OTA11..
Twice in Web Browser
Once in Firefox
Once in Dekko
Once in Today scope.

The firefox occasion it happened when I tried to screenshot.. Got the shutter noise, the vibrating feedback, then everything stopped.. On restarting not onlyvthat screenshot was lost, but so where two more from a few minutes before.

No recollection of screngrabbing the other times.

Please provide some additional info if you can
logs at
/var/log/syslog
.cache/upstart/unity8.log
/var/log/lightdm/unity-system-compositor.log

Were you running the same apps each time?
Are there any crash files (see /var/crash or system settings > security & privacy)
If you run the "top" command is anything consuming cpu
Did you try just suspend and resume rather than a hard power off?
Do you have any bluetooth devices connected at the time?

Mm.. Can't square the number of dmesg files with my memories of freezing.. That's human memory for you.

17:41 I was running the web browser and notes, to gather screen shots.
I had edited both title and content of a note I knew to be shared in Notes app.

I had screenshot the browser, accessing evernote, and opened notes to do the same.. The note I had been working on had the new title and the old body.. I tried to refresh it but the tablet had become unresponsive.. It would not screenshot either.. I had tolong press the power and then power up again.

I reproduced it by repeatedly doing sreenshots and changing apps, took about 3.
The system is still alive but acts as though each input even is delayed 30 secs, the screen will respond to one event at a time but not for a long time. Touching the screen immediately restores brightness and any touch event triggers logging in syslog.

Well done. I had been trying to attach the latest Syslog, but launchpad twice sent oops.

Glad I am not imagining it.

Let me know if there is owt more I can provide.

Well done again.

Reproduced it a second time (many more iterations required) and attached to unity8 and u-s-c with gdb but it said no symbol table loaded

I should have added the symptom the second time was different, no UI changes were ever seen
I did watch the tpd device with evtest and it got the events right away hence new bug tasks.

Ok, got my Ipad back.
Going to pack the M10 away.. It's been interesting, but not much fun.. Like the phone it is just not finished, and not reliable enough to use
