network control panel, hosts tab problem

Bug Description

In ubuntu 7.10 desktop, network ctl. panel, hosts section, the ctl.panel removes duplicate hostnames that I map to the same IP address. For example when I add:

127.0.0.1 alpha
127.0.0.1 beta

It removes the former entry and keeps only the latest one.

My workaround is to edit the hosts file in /etc/ manually.

Did LEVIS's suggestion fix the problem? If so, marking the bug as "invalid" would be helpful. (invalid means it is no longer an issue).

Thanks!

Dears Greg and Levis,

Thanks for the help. Is it possible to document it somewhere in user interface or help system? To whom should I turn to?
