Came here to say this. You were right, but you were downvoted. Welcome to Reddit. Have my upvote. The Japanese equivalent of "Kung Fu" is "Karate", and the overarching term for Chinese martial arts is "Wushu" and in Japan "Budo" or "Bushido".
To use these terms interchangeably given the vast differences is annoyingly ignorant.
