Bug Description

Binary package hint: kaffeine

This worked for a while under Feisty and then stopped (see Bug 140023 - Feisty: Kaffeine used to play ISOs, doesn't anymore).

Kaffeine has a menu option to Open > File Type ISO (from the Drop Down menu). This was for movies backed up via K9Copy, which made them watchable on a computer. Now when I try to open an ISO DVD file, I get:

07:33:27 AM: xine: cannot find input plugin for MRL [dvd:/home/eljefe/Movies/DVD%20ISO%20BB2/2003_Tibet_CryoftheSnowlion_docum_1h43.iso]
07:33:27 AM: xine: input plugin cannot open MRL [dvd:/home/eljefe/Movies/DVD%20ISO%20BB2/2003_Tibet_CryoftheSnowlion_docum_1h43.iso]
07:33:27 AM: xine: found input plugin : DVD Navigator

Please fix this!

Based on what I saw on another bug report for Kaffeine, I was able to get this to work if I moved the file to a path without any spaces in it.

I am not sure if this is a Kubuntu bug or a Kaffeine bug, but the path cannot have spaces, but it should be allowed to.

I can confirm this problem, with Kubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon

Kaffeine can`t open a dvd-iso-image with spaces in the filename.

According to bugs.kde.org this was fixed in July 2007:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150082

So the Question: Does this issue exist further in hardy?

Altough it seems fixed in debian it still appears in Kubuntu Hardy Heron

Hi,

I encounter this problem too and found its origin. It can be fixed with this small patch.
