Bug Description

stk requests OpenGl 3.1 support on Ubuntu 16.04. Without it is working quite fine (a few effects are missing). The only things which affect gameplay are the solid "gum bubble" and the solid wind shadow effect.

To my surprise, starting with the command line "MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=3.1FC MESA_GLSL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=140 supertuxkart " works flawlessly (albeit a bit slow) :-)

Perhaps either the 2 effects whose affects gameplay could be fixed, or the OpenGL 3.1/GLSL 1.4 version of the shaders are tried, regardless what the GPU driver is saying?

About OpenGL 3 and ironlake in general I found http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTMxMDQ .

I'm also surprised that OpenGL 3.1 works fine for ironlake :) Or maybe it just uses software rendering for most effects? The LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 works fine (but very slow) with OpenGL 3 either.

The issue with transparency was fixed in STK. The issue with not having OpenGL 3.1 support on Ironlake (if it is still an issue) should be filed on Mesa's bugtracker.
