Bug Description

When playing lbreakout2 fullscreen every 10-15 minutes(I don't know the exact interval) it becomes a window(restoring original resolution) and pauses.
After that when I click on the lbreakout window and wait a few seconds it restores resolution and becomes fullscreen again.
This is a repeating process.

Using compiz fusion and nvidia driver at a widescreen resolution.

It also happened when playing nexuiz.

I can't confirm this problem (not within 15 minutes at least). Might be specific to your driver?

I'm on gutsy, using lbreakout version 2.5.2
Using compiz fusion and intel i810 driver, 1024x768.

Jurriaan, to rule out that it is a driver problem, could you please try temporarily switching back to the free nv driver, and see if you can still reproduce this problem?

When changing my driver to nv I get my widescreen resolution(1680x1050) in 4:3 on my screen(everything looks stretched) and I cant play lbreakout because my paddle won't move from his position. I can't test it when using nv. When I switch back to nvidia, I get my resolution in a normal way and I can move the paddle again, but my original problem persists.

nexuiz and lbreakout2 both use libsdl1.2 for graphics, so it is likely a problem with that lib.

I have also experienced lbreakout2 pausing game play for no apparent reason. For me, however, the window did not 'restore' - it stayed fullscreen as I had set it. The frequency of erroneous pausing was not steady; sometimes I could play for 20 minutes & nothing - sometimes it would pause twice in as many minutes.

That was in Feisty.

Now that I've upgraded to Gutsy I am unable to get the thing to go fullscreen. When commanding it to go fullscreen it just centers itself on the screen blanking out my desktop. I have tried reverting back to ati from fglrx (8.37.6) but this did not change the behavior.

I don't know if the pausing problem still exists or not since the game is virtually unplayable for me unless I have it full screen.

Also this same phenomenon of not being able to change to fullscreen is happening to lMarbles (or just simply 'marbles' as it is listed in Add/ Remove) so maybe that's a clue? I've flagged this thread for email updates so if anyone would need to see any of my configuration and/or files don't hesitate to ask.

I have similar problem with frozen-bubble, it becomes a window after 15-20 min and loses focus. Using Nvidia 8600 gt. Can not switch to free nv driver

I've read the bug that this has been marked as a duplicate of, but I do not see the same behavior. I have no screensaver set. The timing is a bit erratic, but I tend to see it within 10 to 15 minutes of starting the game. When this occurs there is no method by which I have been able to resume the game.

I've also done a swap back to the normal driver with the same behavior. I am continuing to debug the scenario.

Similar here - I find not only that it freezes (never does in XP...) but also the ball motion isn't smooth either - and it just pauses at fairly random intervals.

Same lbreakout version, nvidia 8600en card.
