Need explanation for "peculiar nebulosity"

I have been unable to find out what "peculiar nebulosity" means in these strings - could you please add a translators' comment with the astronomical definition?

No exist special definition for "peculiar nebulosity", but the word "peculiar" are wide using in astronomy for marks an "odd objects" (examples: peculiar galaxy, peculiar star)

Should I add comment like "peculiar: different from the usual or normal"?

How about: "peculiar: odd or unusual, cf. peculiar star, peculiar galaxy"

I must agree with Alexander, "peculiar" is a commonly used word in the astronomical literature. May translate somewhere between "proper", "particular", and "odd", or may be even left away.
